Build
a Teardrop Dulcimer at Woodcraft
I (and many other woodworkers, craftspeople,
and folks with a yen for nice tools) always enjoy trips to Parkersburg's
Woodcraft store. Woodcraft University has some
extremely well-equipped
workshops, needless to say, and I'm looking forward to using them.
We will be building Yam style Teardrop dulcimers (named in
honor of SPiCYAM in
Shawnee, Ohio). The Yam is smaller overall and has a shorter string
length than my standard Teardrop instrument. I've built two of
them recently
and have grown very fond of their sweet voices. There is a Yam on display
in the Parkersburg Woodcraft store, and you can read more about the
original Yam class here.
