Dulcimer Specs and Prices

NOTE: All J.C. Rockwell mountain dulcimers are handmade by Jerry Rockwell, signed, numbered, and dated inside. See the catalog photos online, or call to discuss your requirements or special needs. If you can, visit us to try out several instrument styles. (Please call and make an appointment first--the workshop is also our home). You are welcome to try out my instruments at any of the scheduled events on our calendar.

"POST-REVIVAL" FEATURES: The 6 1/2 and 13 1/2 frets are part of each Rockwell dulcimer ["extra" frets came into common usage after 1970]. Modern geared tuning machines are also a standard feature.

WOOD VARIETIES other than those mentioned, or unusual figured pieces, may be available from time to time in limited quantities.

CASES: I prefer to ship dulcimers via UPS in corrugated packing boxes, and have never had an instrument damaged in shipment. Your choice of an instrument case depends on your travel requirements and your individual tastes. Though many players prefer to build or sew their own, I can have a hardshell case dropshipped to you, ship one with your dulcimer, or recommend several makers of cases and quilted or tailored cloth bags that fit my instruments--write to:
